privacy policy

1. overview

perkies ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how you can control it. We keep it simple and we don't sell your data.

2. data we collect

Account data — when you sign up, we collect your email address and (optionally) Discord account information via OAuth. We store this securely via Supabase Auth.

Profile data — your chosen username, display name, bio, avatar, links, and any customization you set. This is what gets shown on your public profile.

Uploaded files — background images and audio tracks you upload are stored in Supabase Storage.

Analytics — when someone views your profile, we log an anonymized event including the visitor's country (via Vercel IP headers), referring domain, and a hashed IP address for deduplication. We do not store raw IP addresses.

Link clicks — when a visitor clicks a link on your profile, we record that a click happened on that link (no visitor identity is stored).

3. how we use your data

• to provide the service — showing your profile, authenticating you, and delivering analytics to your dashboard
• to send transactional emails — account confirmation, password reset, email change confirmation
• to detect abuse — we may review accounts flagged for spam or policy violations

We do not use your data for advertising or sell it to third parties. Ever.

4. third-party services

We use the following third-party services to operate perkies:

• Supabase — database, auth, and file storage. Your data is stored in their infrastructure. Supabase Privacy Policy
• Vercel — hosting and edge functions. Vercel Privacy Policy
• Discord — if your Discord account is connected, we read your live presence (status, activity & Spotify) to display it on your profile.

5. cookies

We use cookies strictly for authentication (keeping you logged in). We do not use tracking or advertising cookies. No cookie banner needed — it's just session cookies from Supabase.

6. your rights

You can:

• update your profile data at any time from your dashboard
• change your email or password from settings
• delete your account from settings — this permanently removes all your data
• request a copy of your data by emailing support@perki.es

7. data retention

When you delete your account, your profile, uploaded files, and analytics data are deleted. Backups may retain data for up to 30 days after deletion.

8. children

perkies is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us their information, contact us and we'll delete it.

9. changes

We may update this policy. If we make significant changes, we'll notify you by email or via a notice on the dashboard. The "last updated" date at the top always reflects the current version.
